RANGE RULES
You will sign a copy of these rules before being allowed on the range.
- All commands of the Range Officers must be obeyed upon entering the Range.
- Safe gun handling practices will be observed at all times. (NRA Standards)
- Obey all Federal, State, and Local Firearm Laws.
- Treat all guns as if they are loaded.
- Never point a gun at anything you are not willing to shoot or destroy.
- Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until your sights are on the target, and you are ready to shoot.
- Be sure of your target, what is in line with it and what is beyond it.
- All guns to be used on the Range must be unloaded and cased prior to entering or leaving.
- Load and unload firearms only on the firing line and in your shooting lane.
- All weapons must be pointed down range at all times.
- All firearms must be cleared and breach open when removed from the firing line.
- All firearms used on the Range must be in safe operating condition and used only with the proper ammunition (including hand-loaded ammo).
- Approved eye and hearing protection must be used prior to entering the range and worn until exiting.
- Cross lane firing is strictly prohibited. Shoot only at your target.
- No food, drink, or tobacco product (including smokeless tobacco) is permitted on the Range.
- No one will be permitted on the range premises if they are under the influence of alcohol or any other intoxicating substance.
- No drawing from a holster or the hip and firing. This includes pistol grip shotguns. No shooting at objects on the floor, walls or ceiling.
- ANY 2 SHOTS fired that strike any surface besides your paper target, such as the ceiling, floor, target carrier, track, etc., In any combination will result in the Range Officer asking you to leave for the day.
- No hand to hand transfer of firearms. To pass a firearm to another shooter, place the weapon on the firing line bench and step back. The other shooter may then step forward and pick up the firearm. Only one loaded firearm at a time. No other gun handling behind the firing line.
- Shooters must be 21 years old to shoot a handgun and 18 years old to shoot a long gun/rifle unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. When accompanied you must be 12 years or older to shoot a handgun or rifle.
- All persons, belongings, targets, ammo, and firearms are to remain in the booth while on the range to permit Range Officers a fast, uninterrupted path in case of an emergency.
- Pensacola Indoor Shooting Range reserves the right to reject or refuse anyone access to all facilities.
